How to play?TORN Basics
Torn is a text-based browser and mobile MMORPG set in a crime-soaked city that never resets. You start weak and choose your path: criminal, fighter, trader, or faction soldier. Progress is gated by Energy, Nerve, Happy, and Life, and crimes are a core part of that loop.
- Training Strength, Defense, Speed, and Dexterity in gyms
- Working jobs or running one of dozens of player-owned company types
- Education courses
- PvP: attacking, mugging, or hospitalizing other players
- Faction life: organized crimes, ranked wars, territory
- Player-driven markets, bazaars, auction house, stock market, and bank
- Travel, properties, racing, casino/poker, missions, drugs, items, bounties, jail/hospital cycles
Level is hidden until you hit it; stats can theoretically go infinitely high. The game is designed for long-term play—check in a few times a day rather than sit and grind for hours.
Complete the tutorial
Follow the tutorial exactly, please don’t spend all your E (Energy) in the gym. Done right, you can reach level 3 in your first hour.
Get starter weapons and armor
You’ll need basic gear next. Join Faction Forge and you’ll see a list of players ready to help you get your first weapons and armor.
Reach level 15
Get to level 15 as soon as possible. We have a method that can get you there within a week — some players do it in 4 days. After you join Faction Forge, you’ll see the exact plan.
